PGG Wrightson Seeds Corporate

PGG Wrightson Seeds is a market-leader with a long and proud history of supplying proprietary forage, grass, brassicas, maize and cereal seeds to farmers, seed and related agronomy products to the turf industry and edible grains for human and animal nutrition.  We operate in both New Zealand and Australia and export seeds to more than 50 countries across the world.

We are involved in all aspects of the seed and grain supply chain. Seed and grain production is contracted out to growers who work closely with the company to produce high-quality seed and grain crops. Processing and distribution is managed using a combination of in-house and third-party facilities and products are either distributed to retailers, or for our grain and turf products, sold direct to end-users by our brands, PGG Wrightson Grain & PGG Wrightson Turf respectively.

Our focus on Research and Development has been the key to our success. In conjunction with our research partners, we invest well in excess of $18 million a year into our forage and endophyte programmes, making us one of New Zealand’s largest investors in research and development.

In 2019 PGG Wrightson Seeds was purchased by DLF a Danish seed grower co-operative.

New Zealand plays an important role in the production and supply of seed for global markets and is a major producer of temperate forage and vegetable seed due to its ideal climate, free draining fertile soils and availability of irrigation.

PGG Wrightson Seeds works with experienced seed growers across New Zealand, providing technical support to maintain seed yield and quality.
